  • This is the beginning of better days for the poor and needy
  • Our combined effort brings relief to those in distress. We can all contribute to the Lord’s storehouse when we pay our fast offerings.
    • “In the next place, in lieu of residues and surpluses which were accumulated and built up under the United Order, we, today, have our fast offerings, our Welfare donations, and our tithing, all of which may be used for the care of the poor, as well as for the carrying on of the activities and business of the Church. “  (Article Reference)
    • Lord’s Storehouse: D&C 72:10, D&C 82:18
  • Our self-reliance increases our ability to serve.
  • We follow the Savior’s example when we minister to the needy and suffering.

  • Luke 21: 3-4
  • Proverbs 31:20 --She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy
  • No matter how big the ward is or how small the branch is, every member in the world has the opportunity to give
  • Service humbles the giver and helps us become true disciples of Jesus Christ
  • Let us recommit ourselves to serve others!
  • We can be a "storehouse" to those in need.
